A flat plate toolbox has smooth aluminium sides instead of the raised tread of checker plate. Every aluminium box in the Flat Plate Series has a raw, natural finish. Most boxes are 2.5 mm flat plate, and a couple are 3 mm.
The range runs from a 335 mm gas bottle holder to 2100 mm side opening boxes. It includes:
Side opening boxes lock with a whale tail lock that takes a key or a padlock. Other models use T-handle or push locks. The boxes have welded seams, and most have a rubber seal to help keep dust and water out.

Not usually. Most of our flat plate boxes are 2.5 mm. Our checker plate boxes are listed as 3 mm including the tread and 2.5 mm without it. Checker plate should be measured at its thinnest part, so the sheet under the tread is the same 2.5 mm.
Yes. The Flat Plate Series is raw aluminium. Many of the same models also come with a black or white powder-coated finish. See our black ute tool boxes, or find white versions in the white range.
