Side Opening

A side opening toolbox lets you reach your gear from beside the tray, so there is no climbing up. The lid lifts on gas struts and, on most models, swings on a stainless steel piano hinge.

Boxes run from 900 to 2100 mm long. Most are 600 mm deep and 820 mm high. High side truck models stand 1200 mm tall. Pick the layout that suits your work:

• full lid opening, where the whole side lifts up
• 3/4 opening, also called half lid
• full lid boxes with 2 or 4 internal drawers, and half lid boxes with 2 or 3
• multi lid and centre boxes

Choose 2.5 mm flat plate or checker plate that is 3 mm including the tread. Finishes are raw aluminium, black or white. Nearly every side opening ute toolbox here has a whale tail lock with a barrel and key, and room for a padlock. A steel-pinch rubber seal and fully welded seams help keep out dust and water.
