| Alloy | 5052 Marine Grade Aluminium Why 5052 Marine Grade Aluminium? 5052 is the aluminium used for boats and marine fittings. It stands up to salt, rain and road spray, bends without cracking, and welds strongly. That makes it the best all-round choice for a ute toolbox.
In plain words: 1060/1100 are soft and dent easily. 3003 is a general-purpose sheet with low strength. 6061 is strong but cracks when bent and is weaker next to the welds. 5052 gives you strength and marine-grade rust resistance. Ratings compare common alloys for ute toolbox use. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
